The recorder window is gone
Screen recorders traditionally open a second window to run the take, and presenters spend the whole recording pretending it is not there. Recorder 1.0 removes it entirely: press record and the countdown, timer, camera self-view, and every control appear as a small toolbar on the page you are recording. Recording, pausing, drawing, blurring, undoing the last five seconds, and stopping all happen where your work is.
Every mode, same toolbar
Current-tab recordings capture the tab directly with the camera as a draggable bubble on the page. Screen and window recordings use the browser’s own picker, with the camera composited into the video in your choice of layout — a bubble in any corner at three sizes, or side by side — switchable mid-take. Camera-only recordings use the bubble as a live preview. In every mode the toolbar is the whole interface.
Crash-safe takes and instant links
Every second of a recording is saved on your device as it happens, so a crashed browser, closed tab, or dropped connection never loses the take — the extension offers it back for recovery or download. Signed-in recordings also upload while you talk, which means the share link is ready the moment you press stop, and the link itself can be copied before the recording even ends.
Step-by-step demos, when a guide beats a video
Not everything wants narration. Start a step demo and every click captures a screenshot with the position and the name of the control you pressed. Reorder and annotate the steps in the editor, then publish the walkthrough as the same kind of branded share page as a video — something viewers read at their own pace.

Recorder 1.0 is rolling out on the Chrome Web Store now. The browser recorder at microsite.com.au/record keeps working everywhere without the extension, and both publish to the same library, share pages, and analytics. If you already have the extension installed, the update arrives automatically — and never mid-recording.
